Oh, Fuck....This Isn't Going To Be Good

I think they would bitch a lot more if we started getting in the way of innovation because of something someone MIGHT do IF we allowed them to operate without regulation or oversight.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Didn't know there was a shortage. If someone's intent on mining the moon, may need to bring back government cheese.

History tells us pretty clearly that industry is more than willing to fuck people or this planet up for a dime unless someone stops them. There is no reason to believe it would behave any differently just because they aren't on this planet any more.

I take it you didn't see the shithead who wants restaurants to not require employees to wash their hands after they take a shit because it is 'over-regulation?' Fuck the republicunts.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method. Once again, regulate them. That's what we do with all industry whether they like it or not, whether Republicans like it or not. The majority of people understand that some regulation is necessary. I just don't see the point of the cynicism. We need private industry and we need innovation. I would hate to imagine a world without them.

Albert Einstein Quote:Once again, regulate them. They own a majority in both houses of congress thanks to their ability to legally bribe congressmen.... (none of this campaign contribution bullshit, these are bribes.) The fuckers get what they pay for.
Okay, so what do we do Min, shut down private industry until 2016?
Every human institution will go hog-wild if they are allowed to. Human beings are flawed that way. That's why we have our three branches of government. Every organization from police forces to private companies to government agencies need oversight. Even relatively enlightened organizations like universities would soon go sour without it. At least 10% of the male professors would have a harem who they maintained by giving out top grades. It's human nature. So we deal with it.

Albert Einstein Quote:That's why we have our three branches of government. No. That's exactly the point. Right now the corporate crooks own the congress and the supreme court. Only Obama is standing in their way and I wish he was more of a progressive instead of merely a centrist. What's needed is serious civil unrest...something to make the scumbags fear the guillotine, so to speak. But the apathy among the populace is palpable. As George Carlin noted years ago..."no one seems to care." |
