With luck and care, I may just possibly live for another 50 years. In that time frame, I find it difficult to worry overmuch about the heat death of the universe.

Death is a necessity for life to exist. Without it, resources would become depleted even more rapidly than they are now. It's also inevitable, as everything will die, eventually, including the universe. Worrying about it seems pointless. I understand wanting to do more, but the reality is our time is limited. We can't do everything.
The truth is absolute. Life forms are specks of specks (...) of specks of dust in the universe.
Why settle for normal, when you can be so much more? Why settle for something, when you can have everything?

I would never want to live forever. How awful a thing it would be to never die.
Imagine you had 100 trillion years to explore the universe, coming to the end of that and realizing that you had only used up one second of eternity. No thanks. Death is what makes life so god damn beautiful. The bell rings for us all and when mine comes, it comes. Contemplating it only leads to sorrow.

Right, no frickin way. Enforced eternal existence is one of my worst nightmares. If I can clock out when I want, then sure.

Death is a pretty comforting idea when put into perspective. When you consider that all of the things you're worried sick about won't matter in the slightest after you're dead, it makes life more enjoyable.
Same as when you realise that, metaphorically speaking, you're a tiny bacteria crawling on a tiny meatball in the big bowl of cosmic spaghetti.
I like the idea that my life will end. Living forever would drive anyone insane. Like all good things, it has to end.
Also I think the prospect of an afterlife takes away the values of actual life. Heaven makes life seem like a demo version and that may prevent people from living it to the fullest.
Booking a spot in the fantasy VIP club is a terrible waste of the precious time we have here, IMO.

Belief in an afterlife amounts to saying, "Death is not acceptable!"
Well, too bad. Making stuff up doesn't change the facts.
