The Jesus Freaks Will Hate This

Again, word play.

And, are you then saying, that anyone "healed " by prayer, or at least claiming to have been healed, and the evangelicals who claim to have also healed people, aren't really doing so?

You have just redefined the word "heal" as something only the body can do to itself.

Well, Huggy, not gonna fucking happen here. You repeatedly attempt to make your living here redefining everything so it fits your narrative and then expect everyone to just fall in line. Get real.

look up placebo effect.

Additionally, if words change meanings over time -- and they do, you're right -- then you're asserting that your god's book is open to human interpretation. That renders it less than authoritative, given human imperfection.
I think you know what I meant by "old english"

And given the fact that the Bible was written in three different languages, your point about one Hebrew word translating to one English word is, well, pointless.
Aramaic became the language of the Jews during the Babylonian exile, only a couple of books were written in Aramaic.

Anyhow, your point is moot, because the example I gave you was Hebrew.

I asked for a reputable source. Give me a link from a source specializing in linguistics, not apologetics. An academic source would be ideal, so long as the erudition doesn't aggravate your allergies.
That's from Strong's concordance, it IS reputable....
So you want a source discussing Bible translations of the word "faith" with the caveat of not being from a Theological site? Good luck with that one.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Therefore to be made in Gods image is to be made spirit.
You speak of applying logic, it doesn't get more logical than that.

How God chooses to express himself is his prerogative, it is not for everyone to know everything.

So, in response to being asked not to just assume that your interpretations are correct, and to explain how you came to your interpretations and what makes you so sure that they're in line with the original intent of the narrative, you respond by... continuing to assume that you're correct, and just giving us more interpretations.

When I pointed out that you're more than willing to give content, but seemingly incapable of explaining why you think that, did you take that as an invitation, and not the glaring problem with your argumentation that it is? Undecided

I gave a "logical" explanation, if you didn't get it, i don't know what else to tell you.

I'm a surgeon. I know all about the placebo effect.

That doesn't answer my question.

Is there a reason why you put "logical" in quotes, Huggy? It doesn't have anything to do with you not understanding how it works, does it?

It' does, prayer isn't required for healing, faith is, for some people prayer helps the faith.
Like when the handkerchiefs were taken from the apostles and given to the sick, they were healed not because of the power in the handkerchiefs, but because of their FAITH in the handkerchiefs.

the placebo effect works based on the faith the patient has in the treatment, because he doesn't realize it's fake.

You gave your interpretation of a bible verse, based on your specific idea of christianity, with no evidence to support the idea that this was reflective of the true original intent. As I've said before, I'm not willing to imbue you with the authority to decide what each individual verse does and does not mean; you keep answering "how?" questions with "what?" propositions, and I can't imagine it's because you don't understand the difference between the two. I think it's because you can't provide a satisfactory answer.

How do you know the way you're interpreting the bible matches with what the authors wanted? I shouldn't need to tell you why citing more bible verses isn't going to properly answer that question.

Yes, he has faith in the object that he can hold in his hand and place in his mouth, and is advertised as medicine for illness and has proven successful in many other cases he has observed, including in himself.

Now tell me your idea of faith.
