I've never heard anyone claim that if you split up a species up geographically it instantly becomes two different species. That sounds ridiculous. Surely that is not an accepted definition? Am I a different species to my wife while she's at work? :o

I only ask because Huggy says that's "our position".

Of course, given enough time they almost certainly will become two different species. But I don't think creationists have any idea of just how much time we're talking about, since they think they whole universe has been here only 6,000 years.

What evolution deniers need to understand is that speciation can take thousands or hundreds of thousands of years. It will happen eventually. The fact that you demand it happen within an arbitrary timescale convenient to you is irrelevant. It's like saying a car can't get to 60 mph if it doesn't get there in 2 seconds.

We have seen it happen, in organisms with a short life span. The fact that you personally haven't witnessed it is also irrelevant.

If you say the only things you believe are things you've personally witnessed, then that's your whole bible out the window huh.

I'm explaining what the Bible Defines as a species. Every seed must bring forth of it's own "KIND". This simply means, as long as fertile offspring are able to be produced, they are the same species.

Which is why it's nonsense to assume the Bible states Noah took two of every single animal in the world aboard the ark, when it clearly states he took two of each species, big difference.

You're assuming that what the bible says is true, and using its ideas and definitions as though that is science. Nothing in the bible can be considered true unless it's been demomstrated to be true, in other words, through science. So you can't undermind science with unfounded assertions.

Well, you can, but no one is going to take you seriously.

We don't care what the bible says, we're talking about reality. We must agree on what definitions mean, and we are not obliged to make them line up with whatever the bible might define things as.
