I find the entire holiday sick, it is worship of human torture and on top of that need cartoon chocolate bunnies and colored Easter eggs to sell this to kids.

Christians seem to want to celebrate that torture all day every day.
They're lucky he wasn't killed by a giant dildo. Feel free to send me a private message.

Isn't Sunday meant to be a celebration of the crucifiction, though? Why need one more holiday for that? They sure like to stress it a lot. With the crucifixes and stuff. Jesus probably can't stand to look at crosses.

Could Jesus have been a fat guy? We always see his abs (even his Lego abs) on the cross, but maybe he was a little chubby from all the carbs from the loaves and fishes and free wine and whatnot.

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.
Yeah, but isn't every Sunday a celebration of that already?

IIRC, Sunday (as in, all Sundays) is the Sabbath and an homage to the day god rested in Genesis. With Easter, Good Friday is the crucifixion (hooray ironic title), and Easter Sunday the celebration of his subsequent zombification a few days later. The whole thing is just ridiculous, though, and obviously cribbed from other religions which based their holidays and festivals on astrology and astronomy.

Sunday is actually not the Sabbath. The Sabbath starts at sundown today.

Yeah, that's what I was taught, Polaris.
