I'm the one trying to pass as German, remember? So Treppenwitz it is.
Anyway. I've had JWs at the door only once in the past 10 years. They were a dream team consisting of a sharp looking young guy and a decrepit lady, and my apartment was on the third floor without elevators. I guessed that I was supposed to feel bad about sending the ancient lady away, but I did so anyway. Well, I told them that in this house we're strict atheists, and that was enough. At 30something, I was old enough to be a credible atheist, apparently.

Doesn't quite mean the same thing, does it.

As I was told, trappenwitz means things that turn out differently from expected, not a belated reparte.

Never too young to be an atheist.
In fact we're all born atheists. The god concept needs to be taught. Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"
Unfortunately, where I live solicitors aren't allowed. The one time JWs did come to my door, my gf stepped in front of me and shut the door before I had time to engage them... I was kind of disappointed. Shit like this always seemed kind of fun to me.

I once had an hour-long debate with two JW's in my doorway. I'd recently been beating my creationist classmate over the head with the Book of Logic, so I was primed and pumped, and my talons were sharp. They were actually pleasant enough, we even shook hands after.
When the debate is nice, it's very nice. It's great for getting the mental juices flowing and you can have a civilised discussion easily enough. Still a shame about the mountains of dead bodies and foaming geysers of blood brought on by the tyrannical black shadow of theocracy both past and present, though. If you have any serious concerns, are being harassed, or just need someone to talk to, feel free to contact me via PM
I imagine that there are those people who can't wrap their head around younger people being atheists. I am sure that I will one day come across this situation seeing as how I am 21 but look extremely young. They probably just think that you are too young to make such a controversial decision…which is ignorant.
