My story! I am an Ex-Muslim, became and Atheist. I was visited by an Angel of God.

Good, no problem Smile

Even you cannot verify the spirit pulled your leg, you are relying on your memory of the event. Memory is notoriously unreliable.

Nope, no weed. Don't do that shit, never have. I've already given the most likely explanation. However, how does my experience differ from yours in any significant way?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Interesting that we've reached a consensus that the brain can play tricks, given the right chemical circumstances. You don't need external chemical intake to do it, though, the brain is perfectly capable of doing it on its own.

Dude, everything you describe sounds like an episode of sleep paralysis.  You say you've read about how hallucinations, dreams and visions can cause very real feeling experiences, yet you dismiss all that the moment you have an experience.  That is NOT being skeptical or rational at all.  I have a feeling you won't even bother to look it up, but in case you are actually skeptical and not just lying, please read this.

The fact that you won't even consider that your brain was the cause of your "experience" leads me to believe you are just here trolling us, though.

No man, I am not a troll. I am just looking for some answers, that's all. I really thought my evidence are valid enough.

No hard feelings!

Ok, so what do you think of the answers you've been given?

The only answer we can give, with the information you've presented, is it was most likely a hallucination/dream. We have no evidence, only an anecdote. You have I presume been soaked in mythology containing angels as much as most of us have, so they are already rattling around in your brain. You wanted an explanation, so you found something in a book that sounded a bit similar and your mind filled in the gaps.

Since we have nothing to analyze, it's impossible to say more. If you just insist it can't be those things, then there's not much more to be done. But you should be aware of how unreliable memory is, and how easily the brain can be fooled. Anyone who says they can't be wrong is arrogant or naive.

It's nothing personal, we're not trying to be mean. I'd say the same thing to anyone coming to me with a similar story.

Second, you see that logo at the top of every page? The one with "ATHEIST FORUMS" emblazoned across it in orange and blue tinted steel font? Why on earth would you think your shaky recounting of what is either outright lies or an easily explainable hallucination couple with Hindsight Bias would in any way move us, let alone convince us?

Awesome. He's one of my heroes too, and is in fact the main source from which I draw my nigh-unshakeable faith in the human race. He was a truly marvelous and gifted human being who could spin poetry from the threads of the universe.
In view of this, and his stance on such matters, what do you think Sagan would make of this? Of you? Of the process of thought that you have used to evaluate it?
You must weigh the evidence properly in your mind, and not give into the emotion of the experience you think you had.
Weigh it against all the other sighting of demons and UFO's and fuck knows what else and ask yourself...'why is this in any way different to those countless other mistakes, frauds, and hallucinations?'

I agree with you on this matter. I have another weird experience, but i already know the explanation of it.

A while back I went into surgery and after it was over, the Doctor prescribed me Antibiotics treatment, I have to take the pills twice a day for 5 days. The drug caused me severe side effects, including hallucinations. I could not fall a sleep, i was up in my bed for 6 hours straight. during these hours I was experiencing strange nightmares were I am playing as character from a video game called Portal, In my mind I am having dream like visions that I am jumping from portal to portal shooting laser using a gun just like in the game. I felt it was real, because i was half conscious and not completely a sleep.

My explanation that i was under the influence of Antibiotics drugs, and it somehow interfered with my memory and formed this weird vision. If you notice, here we have a clear sign of hallucination, am i correct?
