And then you go for a walk out of a ten-storey window and find out, briefly, that gravity still applies to your 'new world' just as strictly as it does in the real one, even if your brain thinks it's flying. Well, in a very direct way, it is.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

The other thing we can learn from mind-altering hallucinogens, as this thread makes clear, is that they are not for everyone.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Feel free to supply evidence.

Yeah, no. You're confusing perception and reality.

It doesn't matter what corner of the world you were brought up with these 'beings' you see and interact with can be identified.

Nonsense.

Let me take this one Rarely.

Cato, you tool, aren't you assuming a lot about the environment in which we evolved?  How do you know the environment wasn't carefully manipulated to bring about our 'normal' brain states.  Maybe who or what ever did the manipulation doesn't want us to know the truth about our drug enhanceable selves?  It could be a conspiracy which getting high alone can help you out of.  Try not to play into their hands.  (You're welcome.)

I agree with Cato.
But in the end mother nature will take us all back anyway.
Why do we act like the forces of nature don't apply to us just because we can invent concepts like "afterlife".
Everything we are and do will only ever be performed in nature's sandbox.
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.
