I'm sorry Hussy, but in a "scientific miracle of the quran" thread, bitching about facts is ridiculous......your scientific miracles™ have been debunked, and yet you continue to demand that someone make an explanation for them. Well it's not an amazing thing. The Ancient Egyptians built their pyramids with more precision than we use when orientating to the cardinal points to modern buildings. Not only is it amazing they could actually find true north, what's even more remarkable is the precision of their building. Now that's an amazing thing. Not to mention their persistent use of the ratio of Pi in the pyramid designs. Put those two facts together and you'd conclude that they knew the earth was round - so therefore someone figuring out the same thing over 3,000 years later is completely unremarkable. The great pyramid was built more than a thousand years before Pi was "discovered", yet its base to height ratio is 2Pi with an error of about 0.03%.

Sorry but your "egg shaped earth" is nothing special.

I don't think there are scientific miracles in Quran. There are certainly some scientific facts in Quran though.

All you are doing here is trying to explain how the Kuran isn't completely wrong, rather than showing it actually has any wisdom to share.

You didn't explain how you came to the conclusion some sort of god dictated it, and that it wasn't the result of special chemicals in the air at that time that made the people think god was talking to them and gave them temporary amazing knowledge. Or aliens told them, and they mistook the aliens for god. Just because the people had wisdom, and they claim it came from god, that doesn't mean they are telling the truth. My explanations are no more ridiculous than god, and have the same amount of evidence (zero). You said I wasn't being scientific, I don't know what you meant by that. I'm being totally scientific. The scientific method involves saying "I don't know" when I don't know, rather than speculating a conclusion that has no evidence behind it.

(This is assuming the book actually has any amazing knowledge, which it does not in my opinion.)

Also, do you agree Allah punishes people for refusing to submit to him?

The Qur'an has many miraculous attributes proving that it is a revelation from God. One of these attributes is the fact that a number of scientific truths that we have only been able to uncover by the technology of the 20th century were stated in the Qur'an 1,400 years ago.

Of course the Qur'an is not a book of science.These facts could not have been known at the time of the Qur'an's revelation, and this is still more proof that the Qur'an is the word of God.

If you don't want believe it, then don't and ignore it.

The fact that the OP and other muslims on here have been reduced to arguing semantics over what type of spheroid the Quran may or may not describe when talking of the Earth tells us all we need to know about the supposed 'miracles'.

Hey, did you see that recently Pluto is being photographed by the New Horizon probe? That's pretty awesome, considering it's around 3 billion miles away. They've had to aim the craft to the equivalent of a pin prick in the vast empty void of space to coincide with a 100 second window. IF we're going to compare that to the quran, well, I think I know what I'd prefer to call a miracle (or just good science).
