Yeah, I've read the story. What is the problem with my analysis?
How do we get from a desire to rape angels to anal sex if angels can't be anally raped? Not that it makes sense even then. Clearly the angels had some kind of amazing appeal to the crowd in the town, who mistook the angels for men. There is no mention of the men in the town all having anal sex with each other previously, or being attracted to actual men.
Why am I talking about this like it's an actual historical event? Ugh, my brain.
Wait, now I get it. God sent down angels to the town, knowing that:
1- The men in the town would be sexually attracted to these angels
2- They would be mistaken for men
Then God can say, "Hah! Fags."
The story isn't about "sodomy" at all, ironically.
