Probably at least 95% of people in jail are there for wrong doing. IOW, they are locked up for being bad bad kids, yet as a society we feel that it is the right thing to do to shelter, feed and provide medical care for prisoners. As to the unemployed in this country, who lost jobs do an economy out of their control and remaining out of control, some are starting to state that unemployment benefits are lasting too long. Which demonstrates the reality that no one questions the care provided prisoners but will question the benefits that the unemployed receive.
Further, why would anyone want to go to prison, that's just whack and illogical thinking.
The world is a dangerous place to live - not because of the people who are evil but because of the people who don't do anything about it.
