The God of the OT is the God of the NT.
Jesus just takes the wrath upon Himself on the cross so we (in this life) live free from it.
jesus teachings of turning the other cheek and loving your enemies is much much different than bible gods attitude in the old testament ordering people to kill their enemies you must not know much about the massacres and atrocities god ordered people to do to their enemies in the OT
Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today
Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you will join us And the world will be as one - John Lennon
