There already are explanations for it, for example Everett's relative state ( "Many Worlds") interpretation of quantum mechanics and others. The trouble is that they don't seem to make different experimental predictions, and so we don't know which is the right one. Now, maybe quantum gravity research will point us towards one particular scenario. But I don't seriously expect to know for sure which is the correct interpretation of quantum mechanics in my lifetime.
