The more dogmatic ones, especially Evangelical Christians in my experience generally dislike atheists and have burning hatred for the more outspoken ones such as Richard Dawkins. To give an example; there are plenty of examples of Evangelical Christians saying in their testimonies that they were once Atheists.
Christians should be neither relaxed about atheist or hate atheist even one as staunch as Dawkins. Christ teaches that we (christians) are to love everyone as God loves everyone. Of course this is impossible because we are fallible humans, what is possible is not hating others no matter who they are or what they have done. Christians should never let their guard down because satan has a way of exploiting temptation, such as having hatered for someone, this interferes with ones relationship with Christ causing one to stumble and not putting forth his/her best efforts. Just saying...
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
