Chronic stress is known to impair immune system function.  Beyond that, I can't figure out what you're trying to say.  People do call in sick because of pneumonia.

Who said they didn't? I saw my mother suffer from Pneumonia twice and it was horrible so, with Hilary doing her rounds, I find it strange. Furthermore, it was Pneumonia that was the cause of death of my mother in the end.
