Faked hate crimes

Meanwhile, back at the ranch....I'm up in the air as to which may be worse, the actual hate crime itself or falsely accusing a person or a group of a faked hate crime. Except in the faked incident it would create actual victims and real life consequences based on on a lie.

I'd say the hate crime is definitely worse, especially if it involves hurting someone physically. Like what happened to that handicapped kid who got kidnapped, tortured, and beat up bc of his race. Stuff like that is very much worse. But that doesn't take away the nastiness of faking a hate crime, either. It's falsely accusing innocent people who may very well get in trouble by the law for something they did not do. You could say that faking a hate crime in itself is sort of a mild form of hate crime because you're doing it with the intention of villainizing the group of people you don't like.

I was actually speaking to the aftermath. Didn't make it clear the way I wanted. We've seen the riots, the protests, the burnings, the looting, destruction of property, people hurt, when the justice system doesn't mete out fair justice in the eyes of the offended for an actual hate crime. This same reaction can also happen with the fabrication of a hate crime. Although a lie it wouldn't be victimless either.
