Why do far right Christian-Conservatives want to put Jesus in schools

You forget that ever since its inception in 325CE christianity has ever been a political movement first an foremost. And it's main goal has always been to protect the poweful and keep the weak down.

While christianity may find it's origins as such, there actually was a time..in living memory in the US, when the gp did not politicize it's religion.

That wasn't from lack of trying amongst the religionistas, but the Republicans (a much better group than the current crowd who bear their mantle) were strong enough to not entertain them.
