There is no right to be free of offense, exactly. They do have every right to control the content they broadcast, but this is not a good decision at all.

I speak my mind to my bosses regularly. I employ tact while making my point, and so no offense is taken, and I've never had a boss tell me to hush up ... not since I was in the military, at least. It helps that my own personal policy is to avoid discussing religion or politics while on the clock.
