I can have reasonable conversations with anybody, my best friend is a socialist and I acknowledge him all the time for his opinions because he makes rational competent decisions. He is also a theist and this does not bother me.

You make atheism a political religion and will disacknowledge anybody because they differ from you. You need to grow up and act like you are at least 16 at the very minimum. They do serve, and the stats do exist.  That' one of the many reasons it's a dumbass idea on a fundamental level, and the only reason to "ban" them, a practical impossibility, think it through..... is pandering to bigots.

You have peaked my interest because I have never found any credible statistic or any of that matter. I know they do serve but I am clueless about the capacity at which they do. I know a couple thousand do serve but at the same time I am wondering about how do they house them or even how are they treated. I say this because if you have people identifying as a different gender then this would obviously confuse the "righteous warriors of Jesus" pricks in the military. Atheists have had many issues in the armed forces do to so many superior officers being of this type. 

I know the military is a shit-show in the US but I am unable to do as much research at the moment due to summer classes. So I apologize if I am a few months behind on the latest and greatest news at the moment
