They are there to push a narrative and they burried Bernie for a reason. They are there to push endless war and corrupt, corporate politicians. Of course they are right about Trump much of the time. Trump is a circus clown and is terrible for the US and the world, but that doesn't make the people who work in MSM good people. One doesn't have anything to do with the other.
Yes I did put "fake News" in the title because 45 doesn't simply address one specific story or one reporter, he has taken a very dangerous political tactic in carpet bombing all media in general. It is dangerous for a politician, much less a head of state in the free west to do that. It is up to the private sector and media to criticize each other, having a politician vilify in a carpet bombing manor are what despots do.
A sane politician says, "This particular story is wrong and here is why."
45 vilifies media in general terms, just like Goebbles did for Hitler.
Don't make this about the free press, this is about HIM and what he is doing that can undermine checks on power.
I certainly disagree with most of what Trump says and I won't defend him, and he certainly doesn't know how to act Presidential at all, but the MSM sure make it easy for him by putting out so much BS. Trump may very well end up being the worst US President in history, and the media has so much truth to use against him, but of course on top of that they feel the need to tell half truths or just outright make up things at times to try to make Trump look even worse, which in turn is ruining what little reputation they have left. There's no need to try to make Trump look even worse than he already is when he's already probably the biggest clown of a US President ever. MSM just can't help themselves though and put out story after story that end up getting shown to be false. I understand that someone needs to hold Trump in check. I want alternative media to be the ones to do it (yes, there is plenty of progressive alternative media), while MSM dies off, but I don't think the establishment is going to let that happen. I don't think it's a good idea to be propping up the establishment or the establishment media right now. The establishment are the ones to blame for giving you Trump. Trump was a response to the establishment. Propping up the establishment is only going to give you another Trump in the future. This is why we should be propping up progressive alternative/ independent media and progressives like Bernie Sanders. Don't make the same mistakes over again that gave you Trump.
