I don't think they do it for selfish reasons though. There are people out there who really believe vaccines may cause negative, life long effects on their kids due to a bad reaction of some sort. They truly believe they are making the right choice for the health of their children. And perhaps there is a small population of kids who have immune issues and may be particularly sensitive to certain substances in some vaccines. I don't know. I see your side of it for sure, but I also see the side that might be discriminated against. There's definitely a conflict of rights here and it's a tough issue.
It matters not a lick how truely and sincerely they believe. Their erroneous belief has no bearing on reality, and the reality is, they are needlessly endangering their children's lives, and the population at large. It's irresponsible. Scientific fact has to come before people's feelings in this situation. It's wholly depressing to me that this is still a subject of debate, for fuck's sake. We're talking about children's lives.
