Children should not die or be permanently scarred. Because some science denying yahoo's don't like vaccines . 1 in a million children might has a sensitivity to a vaccine (thou there is no proof of this) But small pox ,typhoid, and Tuberculosis kill nearly everyone .
Um......... not to be a nit picker but,......... those diseases are not on the required vaccination list for children. Just sayin.
Right they are not on the American list
Those were just examples . The ones on the American list can be just as fatal.
And I point out they are on the Canadian list

Meh, I see your point but I dunno how fair that is. They still pay taxes for the school after all...
Meh? Seriously CL, I love you, but honestly, you can really be obtuse at times.
IDGAF if they pay school taxes or not. The life of an unvaccinated kid is no more important than the life of a vaccinated one. School taxes have nothing to do with it. If parents want to be ignorant to modern medicine and all the good that vaccines have done in this day and age, I say put them all on a stranded island and let them fend for themselves and their unvaccinated broods.

I also note that while Canada has no national requirements . Provinces and school boards do . And schools have the right a bar unvaccinated children .

I don't think they do it for selfish reasons though. There are people out there who really believe vaccines may cause negative, life long effects on their kids due to a bad reaction of some sort. They truly believe they are making the right choice for the health of their children. And perhaps there is a small population of kids who have immune issues and may be particularly sensitive to certain substances in some vaccines. I don't know. I see your side of it for sure, but I also see the side that might be discriminated against. There's definitely a conflict of rights here and it's a tough issue.
It matters not a lick how truely and sincerely they believe. Their erroneous belief has no bearing on reality, and the reality is, they are needlessly endangering their children's lives, and the population at large. It's irresponsible. Scientific fact has to come before people's feelings in this situation. It's wholly depressing to me that this is still a subject of debate, for fuck's sake. We're talking about children's lives.

Yeah, because paying a bit in tax offsets putting others in danger.

Erm............. not to be a thorn in your side (trust me, I get your original point) but I don't see typhoid or TB of the recommended childhood list either (vaccine name Typh-I/O or BCG respectively). Typically those 2 are reserved for travel to or return from endemic areas or specific sub-populations. But there is always the chance that I'm completely missing something.

I'm sure the person who caused this was a tax payer too .
We don't let people who pay for the roads drive drunk that would be dangerous . So why should we allow tax paying parents who don't vaccinate their kids get away with something similar .

I paid taxes on my rifle and the ammo. Do I get to pull the trigger indiscriminately? (maybe not the best analogy)

If kids die due to wilful ignorance on behalf of their parents, I have no problem with that. Providing, they don't take other kids down with them. I see the death of kids to antivaxer parents as evolution doing its stuff. Nature found a serious flaw in the make up of the parents and nature did its thing and removed the offspring from the gene pool. Natural selection in action.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.
