To be honest, I would rather he do something about it when he screws up rather than drink his little wine and eat his little cracker.
But really it's obvious he doesn't believe in any of it. I don't think he's turned the other cheek since before I was born.
What better place than to seek atonement than during the ceremony established by Christ to reminded us of what he has done. For a long time this was my point of atonement as well.
Again despite what the church says. there isn't an actual forgiveness ceremony. we can seek God grace any number of ways.
