Okay, mea culpa. I did not do justice to your position, and certainly did not give it the nuance it evidently needs (which you explained in the old thread, which is why I linked to it). I’m sorry I misinterpreted it.

Honestly, my point is that there was a crucial difference between him and Sparks: namely, your husband is at least sensitive to your needs and doesn’t seem to want to hurt you and he isn’t a depraved little shit like Sparks.

Yeah, my position is simply that spouses shouldn't neglect each other sexually, just as they shouldnt in all other ways - emotionally, mentally, physically, etc. Unless there is legitimate reason for it. One example is my poor friend who's husband never has sex with her because he'd rather smoke weed, sleep, or play video games.

This, of course, has nothing to do with abuse or unwanted sexual dominance lol. My position on sex is all about commitment and self giving love.

I know this old but I just wanted to say I 100% agree with what you wrote here.  A healthy, fulfilling, loving marriage requires work. It’s not a passive thing.  It’s not supposed to be easy.  It’s not about each person going about their selfish whims. Giving to your spouse because they’re communicating a need for intimacy can be very rewarding, because it goes beyond just, “I’m horny, so yeah, let’s have sex.” It’s about being selfless and actively loving the other person in a way that they need, even if that particular way is not high on your list of immediate desires at the moment. There is nothing submissive about that, lol. It’s the opposite. It’s called equal partnership.
