Trust me, I’m not a naive person. I’ve lived enough to know things. But I’ve known this man for years. He makes a living out of catching abusers, murderers, solving cases and making people pay for their crimes. He might be an angry man, but he’s a good man. Personally, I can’t be around him too long without growing bitter, because his bitterness in contagious, but he was always very overprotective of me. I doubt it was him. I think someone else spiked our drinks, or spiked mine and we always shared each other’s drinks, so he could have been dragged into it.

His name wouldn't happen to be Brett, would it?
