I have two projects held on funding, and jan 31st is my deadline..so, either I'll come out of pocket and continue the data collection or I'll say "no money no workey" to uncle sam, and let the whole thing die...effectively shitcanning three years of research (and some poor fuckers graduate thesis).
I suppose it's useful to add that this happens all the time..it's only related to the shutdown this time by circumstance, lol.
