That is both churlish and childish behaviour. In my family, sulking has never been permitted.
My thing is to be polite, talking only about the most trivial things, and excusing myself as soon as possible. If passing in the street, a polite greeting, and keep moving.
I like to think I would behave that way even if I should run into my ex wife. However, I can't guarantee that; she wounded me very deeply.
I'm sorry about your problems with your ex wife. Why is it childish to not talk at all with someone you dislike? Especially if you had a relationship with them (not necessarily romantic) and then ended said relationship because said person was mean?
