This NSSF lobby is still a lobby regardless. They'd be the Mafia Don, head of the snake, so to speak, but it still would make the NRA more like made man under that Don.
So maybe the argument you should make is, "Don't just focus on the NRA, also at the same time focus on the NSSF". i still would not say it is a good idea to ignore the political lobby NRA. Both that lobby and the industry NSSF are still protecting the same industry.
I honestly wouldn't (and don't) make that argument at all. The NRA is it's own thing, They aren't under the nssf, the nra would still be a thing even if guns and the nssf weren't. Maybe even more of a thing.
-If- you think that reducing the financial motivation will fix things, ignore the nra and focus on the nssf. -If- you think that reducing the political motivation will fix things, carry on.
