You CANNOT just walk into Walmart - or any other FFL dealer - simply pay cash and walk out with a gun IN ANY STATE.

This is simply incorrect. I’ve watched multiple people buy guns the same day they walked into the store. You can purchase a gun as soon as the background check passes; there is no federal law requiring you to wait and only certain states have mandated waiting periods.

You MUST fill out a 4473 and pass a NICS check. In some states a concealed pistol permit, which has a more extensive background check than NICS, substitutes as the NICS check.

If your NICS check commes back negative - you aint getting a gun.

If your NICS check bounces every time - blame computers.

You probably have a fairly common name - and someone with the same name is a criminal.

You can apply for a special ID number through NICS - which you use with future purchases - and the NICS won' t bounce on you anymore.

Ive been told by multiple gun dealers that getting a UPIN doesn’t necessarily guarantee you’ll instantly be approved. Though I admit I’ve never applied for one, nor do I have any interest in doing so. I don’t mind waiting 3 days.

Depends on the state. Also depends on whether or not you have a criminal record... and even if you don't have a criminal record sometimes you are given a waiting period. I get delayed every time I buy a firearm, even though I have friends who have walked in and instantly bought one.

And you don't see that as a problem?
