It's 99.9999% about keeping toys. The rest is bullshit made up to justify keeping toys. The gun culture is resolute in ignoring this.

I disagree for the reasons I previously posted.

It isn't just children but yea, it makes me sick that especially when children die the selfish right treats the object as if it were breathing and human.

They always cry, "Just keep them out of the wrong hands." Then shit their pants when we agree.

I think substance abusers shouldn't have them. My dad should have had his firearms taken from him. He was an alcoholic and got drunk one day and shot his 38 with me in the room. In doors, in a TINY townhouse. 

I think mentally ill people shouldn't have them. I suffer from depression and anxiety. 

I think domestic abusers shouldn't have them.

I think religious terrorists, including sickos like McVeigh and Roof, should not have them, nor Muslim terrorists.

I think red flag laws can work, taking them away from disturbed teens and or disturbed workers looking to get even in schools or workplaces.

And no, you don't need to be carrying your firearm in public, and yes, when you have it at home it should be locked up in a theft proof gun safe. 

^^^^^^^ Only a delusional person would think those are the right hands. And only a delusional person would read that as a call to ban 100% of all firearms. Prevention is a regulation, not a ban.

Stay away from our assault weapons. 

By the way, nearly everyone has anxiety to some extent.  It is part of our design.

You are correct, it is not about keeping toys. However, IT IS ABOUT MONEY! The makers of firearms are like any CEO, their job is to keep their market and expand their market and keep and gain shareholders.  This isn't about rights for the CEOs of these companies, it is about MARKETING!

The makers are pulling the same fear mongering bullshit car companies did when Nadar told them their products suck. But funny that, regulations have made cars safer. But big oil is also selling fear too, trying to avoid the fact that burning fossil fuels is causing global warming.

MARKETING, not rights, but selling fear to people like you so they can keep their profit margins up.

"Consider your man card issued" isn't about rights, it is marketing a fantasy implying the mere ownership of a firearm will magically turn you into Rambo.

^^^^^ That is marketing a serious tool as if it were merely a toy. Firearms are not toys and should not be marketed as if they were.

Firearms have no magic powers, and more often than not, the user is far more likely to hurt themselves or someone they are familiar with than they would successfully use it against a complete stranger.
