This is an issue whenever radicals from a group do something bad. The rest of the group says "they aren't TRUE Scottsmen", and cry about potential bigotry against them as a result of the incident.
It is a valid concern, but it is also a political ploy to shut down criticism of their group.
I believe that Islam is the most backward major religion on the planet. I believe it is dangerous to freedom and democracy. Every other major religion is spiritual (though secular power structures have been built upon them). Only Islam merges religion and secular power.
And yet I know some very nice Muslim immigrants. They are not fundamentalists. However, I have always held that magic-book-based religions are best judged by the books themselves. Liberals who throw away the bad parts of their books are a break-away faith. If a faith claims to follow a holy book, then the only 'real' members of that religion are the ones that actually follow that book (FSM help them if the book is contradictory). Everyone else is part of a schismatic group.
So, are the head-choppers a schismatic radical group that are disobeying their book, or are they following the Quran and Hadiths? They claim the latter.
