If we are going to vilify anyone who farts at the wrong time, then Newton deserves to be burned at the stake because he postulated Alchemy. 

It is not wrong to point out the differences between accept and except. It is not wrong to point out the differences between their and there. It is wrong to nitpick when someone's point is correct despite the malady.

I hate, for example, that fast food uses the word "thru" instead of "drive through" which would be correct. But that irritation isn't a matter of national security.
