Yup. If soldiers acted like cops they'd be on the fast lane to a dishonorable discharge and felony conviction in a court with no presumption of innocence. Our police force is a poorly trained occupying army that doesn't truly answer to civilian oversight. Seems like that might be a problem. Might wanna call up the guard to get these para-militaries dealt with.
What an interesting view.

The Vietnam wart was going strong when I was in basic training so it was referenced all the time. We were told quite bluntly that the Australian Army does not take prisoners. I joined a combat battalion in Australia, beginning just before they returned from Vietnam. I was able to verify that anecdotally, which I accepted.
Do you truly think that the My Lai massacre was one of?
There's presently a case her where where Cpl Ben Roberts-Smith VC, a six tour highest decorated war hero is being tried for war crimes in Afghanistan. He is suing for defamation. I wasn't there, so I can't make an informed opinion. Killing some one in a war simply isn't the case of killing a civilian in ordinary life.
His case is the same as the US charging a winner of the Medal Of Honour with war crimes.
The US para militaries would learn very quickly not to take only small arms to a tank and Drone fight.

Some basic information about Cpl Roberts. There's heaps of stuff on line and I daresay on YouTube:
Benjamin Roberts-Smith VC, MG (born 1 November 1978) is an Australian businessman, former Australian Army soldier and a recipient of the Victoria Cross for Australia (VC), the highest award in the Australian honours system.[1] The VC in 2011, together with his Medal for Gallantry (MG) awarded in 2006, made Roberts-Smith the most highly decorated serving member of the Australian Defence Force.[2] He was also awarded a for his leadership as a patrol commander in 2012.
