Tack, the thinking person's edited version of what you quoted might read,
"He who trusteth in his own heart is a fool; but whosoever walketh wisely [believing in a collection of stories in one old book], he shall be delivered."
The fear the religious set have of atheists is justified only in their fear of having nothing to cling to once the man behind the curtain is exposed for having been just a man (or men).
