Ugh, Schopenhauer. Kudos for getting through that. I got through it, wrote the paper and left it on the coffee table while I visited the girlfriend in another part of the house. My dog chewed the paper to bits. Given the choices of rewriting it that night or telling Prof Brasher that my dog ate my homework, I dropped the class.
Anyway, I see some strawmanning of Poly's position in the last few posts. I'm sure he'll clarify. I read Grandizer's article. It made some good points, but was all opinion. In mine, philosophy feeds science at times and can lead to fields of science. However, once that crossing occurs, scientists should burn the bridge.
