@Boru, on the one hand…I’m merely offering possible objections- as that was the question I was answering.
On the other, suggesting that due to myriad other states of affairs…many of which are specific to the us- not every objection to legally mandated insurance is bananapants. You wonder how a person who could purchase a piece of equipment might not be able to insure it. Good question, but that’s business as usual here. All the way up to housing.
The easiest way to kill that one wouldnt even take an ounce of creative untruth. It’s a giveaway to insurance companies….and there’s already a very strong bipartisan rejection to anything like it.
It’s also already the case that even with other examples of mandated insurance….you don’t have to carry it if the equipment never leaves your property and us only operated by yourself (and sometimes immediate family).
In summary, it would be creating a situation where only the largest and most well funded operations could legally do x. Certainly the case already…but not generally pointed to as a good state of affairs. We already know what it looks like when your bank account determines whether you can be legally armed.
