Yeah, that makes sense. Though why would they want to catch up to that specifically, especially now when many were against Russia or the Soviet Union they were a part of during the Cold War?
Just because the Cold War ended does not mean those republicans can be friends with Russia now, especially after what the latter has done and with the white supremacy going on there. There is no good reason to “catch up” to something like that anyhow, so just…why?
Russia has been trying to garner support amongst republican support groups for the last 20 years and more. Look at it's capture of the NRA for example. I think it's near certain that the republicans would have had a change of heart on Russia at some stage, T****y or no.
