The fact that he has a decent size following would mean that plenty of people agree. I know there are other examples out there. This one, however, was what I had in mind when I said that.
Wait, what? You're judging the proportion of people who agree with Santorum's claims regarding education by the proportion of people who support his candidacy for President?
I'd need more support before I'd make that inference. How do you know that Santorum's claims regarding education aren't incidental to his political platform? Even if it is a part of his platform, how can you reasonably estimate the proportion of his supporters who are partially motivated by that particular part of the platform?
