I haven't experienced the other things you've mentioned so I am not equipped to properly compare and contrast them. All that I am prepared to do is speak to my own experiences.
If you are struggling with those issues though I would invite you to pray to God for discernment. But don't ask unless you really want an answer.
James 1:5-8
