Total Christians '000
2006 - 12685.9
2011 - 13150.6
Now - True or False?
13,150,600 is GREATER than 12,685,900
Take your time. Dont rush it.
To work out the percentage increase...
13150.6 ÷ 12685.9 = 1.036 (x100)
WOW
Thats amazing!
3.6% increase
What a coincidence. THATS EXACTLY WHAT I WROTE!
Yes, that's true, but.... how about you apply the same reasoning to the "no religion" claims?
Lets see....
2006: 3706500
2011: 4796800
ratio: 1.2941589, or a 29% increase.
Now, what was it that you said about these?...

From 2006 to 2011 The percentage of people in Australia who reported No religion and/or Not stated Inadequately described
Declined from 30.6% of Census respondents to
A. 15.0%
B. 18.5%
C. 1.2%
D. 22.3%
Lion Answers D. 22.3%
How did you go from a 29% increase in absolute numbers to a 22.3% decrease?
AAHHHHHHHHH, you're comparing absolute numbers with percentages and you don't even make it clear what you're comparing ("and/or Not stated"?? it's either an AND or an OR statement, you can't jumble them both in one single number).
But I called out your error on this one.... I'm curious, why are you so keen on being right that you can't acknowledge that you were wrong on one thing (that is not so good for your argument)?
Now, the overall population of Australia:
2006: 19855300
2011: 21507700
ratio: 1.0832221, or a 8.3% increase.
This increase is above the % increase in absolute numbers of christians. Hence, in percentage of the total population, there was a decrease of christians, which was what I showed earlier.
