Your statement presumes some You ('I') exists to 'choose' or 'trust' apart from the delusions induced by brain chemicals.

"I" may be shorthand for a complex series of chemical interactions, how that conflicts with atheism is beyond me, because I don't see any gods being invoked, or any belief in them being leveraged. Try harder.

My atheist metaphysics..lol, you're a piece of work, lol. I don't experience myself as a collection of cells, but I am precisely that. Maybe you trust your own delusions just a little too much eh? I often experience myself as a biological machine subject to "chemical determinism". Every waking hour of every day actually. I can't actually point to anything and say "aha - that's free will", I like to think that I have free will, but I'm not such a mark as to trust in my own delusions so wholeheartedly.....see how that works?

You know it's just occurred to me that you clearly have no fucking clue what atheism is, or you wouldn't be pissing and moaning about ghosts as though an atheist couldn't believe in them...... How are you going to mount any arguments or criticisms of something you are demonstrably ignorant of? If you line up enough atheists (hows about that for a wet dream eh?) you'll probably run across one that believes in ghosts. Not me, mind you, but they're out there. Why wouldn't they be? Ghosts are not gods.

No, but ghosts are supernatural and seems like that's what a crap ton of atheists say they don't believe in - anything supernatural. I have met a few that believe in ghosts . I just laugh a little harder at them.
