To me the pantheistic view always seemed to make more sense than the divisive monotheisitic view.
gods are supposedly complex creatures, as evolution is the only way to get complexity of this level, a pantheon of gods predating the abrahamic god would be the minimum requirement.
In a way that is what we get, but not in the fact but in the idea of god. By looking at the past beliefs of the region you can see how the abrahamic religions were developed into the rather silly version we get today.
