Psalm, do you not realize that you can apply what you say about choosing to believe in God to yourself?
You have not proven God exists. You cannot- the royal "you,"- prove god. Perhaps life is enough evidence for you of a creator, but you cannot project your opinions (based only on an old book) onto others and demand that they accept.
Myself, I cannot believe that people have thought in the past that a god was made by a lady having sex with a dead god, or that people thought that your heart would be weighed on a scale, or that a fairy comes and takes away your unused teeth, or that the earth is carried on the back of a turtle, or that the world came out of a giant egg, or... or... or... forever. Faith, like yours, is at odds with scientific evidence, and so stubbornly close-minded that you cannot accept anything which disagrees with your point of view.
