This is a case I've studied in detail after my mother made a pilgrimage, was not cured and subsequently died of her illness. There are no independently verified cases of 'miraculous' cure, only a small number of results with highly questionable data in studies commissioned by religious (mainly catholic) groups. The scientific consensus is clear: the only cases of 'spontaneous' cure occur at exactly the same rates as for those who don't visit Lourdes.
