I love when people bring guns into rape self-defense. I am not a woman, but I am female - however, I have a psychotic disorder and if the law doesn't prevent me from owning a gun right now then it will in the future. So what are my self-defense options, peeps? Quill also brought up the fact that she cannot even shoot a gun due to the whole blind thing - what is she supposed to do?
For the record as well, I have taken martial arts. My sensei wanted me to stick with it to become a black belt - he was also, at the time, number 3 in the country as far as effective Shotokun karate schools. That being said, I've been looking at kung-fu and have a friend who practiced Northern Mantis for a while (and also had jiu-jitsu and tae kwan do training) and non-wushu kung-fu seems way more effective than most martial arts, including the one I took. Just my two cents since cannot actually objectively compare every martial art in existence at this moment.
