40 days? No no bro, they were on water for much longer than that. I think it would've taken about 7 months before the first signs of land appeared. It would've taken a year for ALL the water to disappear. So they would've needed at least 7 months of food for everyone.
Another thing that doesn't get much attention is the genetic diversity we see in the world. An experiment was done on cheetahs. They performed skin grafts on them. These were cheetahs taken from different places. The sample size was 30. Only 4 cheetahs didn't accept the skin of other cheetahs. Ever heard in medical cases where the doctor says that the patient rejected the organ donated? The experiment was based on this. There are proteins called HGC cells that do the accepting and rejecting. If the cells don't match, then the body recognises the donated organ as a foreign body.
So most cheetahs accepted the skin of the others. That's bad because this means that the cheetah is poorly genetically diverse. Scientists believe that the cheetah population suffered a severe bottle neck in their species. As a result they have issues like low sperm count because of the great inbreeding they've done.
But we don't see the same pattern with other animals. So the Noah story is crap because it claims that all species were reduced to just a male and female couple. This simply can't be true because there is great genetic diversity in other animals. Even we humans couldn't have come from 2 people. We were not reduced to 8 people because our genetic diversity is great!
