God did establish men to have the role of authority in the family and the church, but never declared women to be inferior. Jesus stated that the Father was greater than he, but he was referring to the Father's position in carrying out his will. Jesus also stated that he and the Father were one. Everything that was the Father's was his. Paul stated that the totality of the Father was embodied in Jesus. Christianity's treatment of woman was much better than the prevailing cultures of the time.
