6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
If my grasp of the queens english is as good as I think it is (it is), that seems to only compare the word to a standard purity for metal. Doesn't seem to suggest it applies to the word itself.
And are you going to point out the hint for your gap theory?
Edit: This I think actually answers my previous question about why god's word needed purification. It doesn't. You should have been all over that. Still creates an issue with this being evidence for your "particular version theory".
Silver in the bible represents the word(see prov 10:20 with psal12:6-7)
The gap theory can be placed between verses Gen1:1 and 1:2. Its something that I havnt studied in depth but it certainly holds a lot of weight because God does skip time periods between certain verses in the Bible.

But you do believe something came from nothing, else where did your god come from? Did he always exist? In that case why save a step and say the universe always existed, after that conclusion is more supported and simpler then adding in god.
God defined Himself in scripture as I AM(Exo 3:14).
The Lord chose perfect english to define Himself with 2 simple words:
I AM.
God is present tense. God is past, present and future.
