I have a one year old, and I was thinking as an atheist, what would be the best way to enlighten a virgin minded child in regards to religion/atheism?
-Educate them on what what my thoughts are?
-dictate what they should follow or believe in?
-Let them choose what path they want?
I have a few years to prepare, I would like just a general and collected thought on the matter.
As long as you and the child's other parent agree, I think you will find that raising a child atheist is remarkably easy. If you don't indoctrinate; answer questions about god and religion honestly; and encourage thinking all will be well. We have raised two atheist teens, pretty much without effort. After all, without indoctrination, atheism is the natural state.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
