I need help
I have been brought up in religion since I was born, and im now 14 years of age, I have left religion because I started thinking about God, and if, he did really love us then why did he flood us, and if he didnt care about flooding us, why didnt he kill Adam And Eve?
Anyway so one thing led to another but here is where I need help, I tell my family im agnostic in ways (Because I dont wanna tell them im athies) and now, more than ever, they're trying to force me to attend christian conventions and go to church and I just want to scream no, but I really don't want to upset my parents, it would make me feel guilty
What should I do? Should I tell them im athiest, because I feel like they will force it upon me more if I do, or should I keep quiet! Please! Respond!
Tell them the number one cause of atheism in teenagers is too much religion in their lives.

He just asked for some advice, you're being overdramatic to the point of dishonesty, an all-too-common thing with you.

Nope. That doesn't make us automatically wrong. And by that logic, he shouldn't listen to you, either. Thinking things through isn't your strong suit.

You think parents NEVER steer kids in the wrong direction? If this kid was complaining about atheist parents never taking him to church, would you be singing the same tune? Parents are human beings. Human beings make mistakes.

And you think that entitles them to treat him however they like without regard to his feelings?

Which of these things have YOU done for him, that he should listen to YOU? Would you outlaw teachers and guidance counselors as unqualified to give advice to people's children unless they personally wiped their little behinds? Sometimes it helps to get the opinion of someone who is LESS personally involved than your mother.

He totally should believe you, since you made a claim on the internet. I could care less if this kid is an atheist or a believer. Frankly, the tactics his parents are folllowing are more likely to cement him as an atheist, so if my goal was to make sure he's on team atheist, I'd advise him to suck it up. The worse his experience with religion is, the better. But what I actually care about is him having a good relationship with his parents, being able to be himself, and having a good life. That's something you can't understand, because you're a Christ-bot programmed to go after souls, and empathy just gets in your way.

You earn the treatment you get here. You think all it takes to behave appropriately is to not use bad words while you spew the vilest insults to be found on this forum, all the worse because you mean them sincerely.

Yes, he should definitely see how some parents are so ruled by their religion that they would throw their own children under the bus for not conforming to their religious beliefs. If you can't have a good relationship with your child unless they agree with you, you do not actually love your child.

No one chooses atheism. People believe what they find convincing, period. It's not something an honest person can turn on and off like a light switch. What they chose was to be honest about their lack of belief and it was their family who couldn't love them for who they actually are.
Yeah, after spending a long post trying to manipulate him, sign off with the 'it's your decision' line. Maybe you should follow your own advice and only pontificate to people whose asses you've wiped.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
